Why Work with an Integrative Nutrition Coach?
Many of us invest our money on people or services that assist or advise us in different areas of our life--financial advisors, wedding planners, travel agents, interior decorators, general contractors, consultants--yet we rarely invest in our health. I mean truly invest in it...beyond the periodic checkups at the doctor, are you really strategically thinking about how to improve or sustain your health?  Health coaching is an investment in your long term health of mind, body and spirit.
The fact is, the medical system does a pretty good job at helping us when we are ill, but it falls short in preventing disease before it requires medical intervention. Since the root to most diseases is inflammation due to lifestyle choices, these can often be prevented! We'll focus on the preventative and therapeutic aspects of nutrition and lifestyle to keep you healthy and vibrant. On the flip side, if you have an illness and are under the care of a doctor, they may have told you to lose weight, stop eating a certain food(s), start exercising more, etc. We may know what we're supposed to do, but they're often so hard to implement. I can work closely with licensed professionals and doctors to help you implement their suggestions.
Regardless of if you are fairly healthy and want to make sure to stay that way, if you are just beginning your health journey, or if you have a health issue you'd like to address, I'll meet you where you are so you can make improvements that make sense for you. I also help women as they are trying to conceive, women during pregnancy and women in their postpartum time.

Preconception

Many women wonder how they can improve their health and fertility prior to getting pregnant, or would like to balance their hormones and improve fertility for improved chances of getting pregnant. We can work on many aspects of nutrition, fitness, lifestyle choices and stress reduction to do just that.

Pregnancy

During your pregnancy, I can help you feel your best and make the best decisions possible for a healthy pregnancy, smooth labor and delivery, and of course a healthy baby. I'll arm you with evidence based research and help you navigate through all of the crap we're told during pregnancy to help you relax and enjoy this amazing time.

Postpartum

I can help you recalibrate and refocus on your health during your postpartum time, which is immensely important. In addition, the mental and spiritual aspects of health are critical to address during this time when body image issues, fatigue and depression can creep in.

Private Integrative Nutrition Coaching Program Options

 

I have 3- and 6-month programs available, and they can be done in-person or remotely. All programs are unique and customized to the unique needs and goals of the individual. 

6- Month Program 

The most effective program is the 6-month commitment, as six months is proven to be the optimal amount of time to create and implement changes that will make a lasting effect. Through the course of a 6-month program, you'll undoubtedly face ups and downs, holidays and parties, changes in seasons, and other events that tend to test & tempt us. Instead of going through those challenges alone, you'll be able to work through them with me, and learn how to overcome them again in the future! 

3-Month Program

If you're finding it difficult to commit to a full 6-month program, a 3-month program could be for you. This shorter program also aims to create and implement lasting change.

One-time 90-Minute Power Session

This one-time session will address questions you have and get you on track with a discussion about goals and ideas on how to move forward with successfully achieving them. 

 

During the Program, You'll Learn:

  • Mindset and breathing techniques and other tools to manage stress

  • The basics of nutrition science

  • How to unpack causes for food cravings and deal with temptations & emotional eating

  • Recipes & new foods, as well as how to buy & cook them and incorporate them into your diet

  • What 'whole foods' are and how to eat healthy without perpetually being on a 'diet'

  • How to move functionally and exercise for pleasure

  • About common environmental toxins how to avoid them

  • Time management skills

  • How gut health and inflammation affect almost everything from your brain to your weight (& how to address this!)

How does it work?

First, we create an empathetic, open, and judgement-free environment. We’ll then start by bringing awareness to how you typically think and your typical habits to uncover opportunities for healthy, lasting change. Next, we’ll prioritize and set SMART goals. Once we figure out WHAT to focus on, we’ll get to the bottom of your WHY—what drives you to make these changes—to be able to stick to your guns.

 

Health coaching is way more than just discussing what you should do, it's putting knowledge into action. So, after the WHAT and WHY, we’ll strategize on the HOW. Every person is different, so what works for your friend or your neighbor may not work for you, and that is okay! I’ll help you identify strategies on how to holistically work towards your goals in the most effective way for YOU, and equip you with tools and plans on how to overcome barriers and temptations as they arise, so change is sustainable and painless. For example, that may mean learning & experimenting with new cooking methods & foods, time management strategies, or meditation techniques...just depends! I will also arm you with information and education pertaining to nutrition so you can confidently make healthy choices.

 

The end goal for me is that you will become self-reliant, ready to tackle temptations, sustain lifestyle changes, and take your health into your own hands. What this will mean for you is a more vibrant, energetic, happier and healthier life.

 

What do we focus on?

We will focus on whatever makes sense for you and aligns with your goals. I believe health is much more than your physical fitness and diet. We need to peel back the layers to make sure that we are getting to the root of any issue or struggle you're having. This may include nutrition, exercise, stress management, time management, mindfulness, spirituality, career, relationships, environmental toxic load reduction, sleep or detoxification, and these things will help to address and see changes in things like weight, energy levels, gut health, inflammation, strength, stamina, and happiness! It's all about your needs, goals, priorities and what's realistic for you. 

For my specialized programs (preconception, pregnancy and postpartum), we'll focus on specific needs during each of those times, and I'll provide extra education and tools for you to support those unique needs.

How is Health Coaching unique?

A health coach is a teacher, and advocate, a support system, accountability, and an empathetic ear.

As a health coach, I empower YOU to take control of your own health. I focus on the preventative and therapeutic aspects of nutrition and lifestyle. We'll address root causes of health issues and imbalances that lead to illness—things like nutrition, nutrient deficiencies, stress, sleep, toxins, inflammation, gut health, exercise, lifestyle, spirituality—that don’t typically require drugs, doctors, specialists or medical oversight.  Why? Because what we’ll work on is safe and therapeutic for every human, and it’s what our body innately knows how to do...Because the one-size-fits-all healthcare model doesn’t work for everyone, and typically just ‘band-aids’ problems or addresses them too late. In addition, it's not just about what to do, we'll focus on how to do it!

We’ll look at your life holistically, focusing on many aspects of your life that affect your health. If you’re looking for a quick fix, a miracle pill or ‘Lose 20 pounds in 20 days’ diet, this is definitely not for you. But, if you’re willing to explore yourself, commit to making gradual changes to new healthy habits, have patience and are ready for a new, healthy lifestyle, then this is for you!
